Google on Monday announced that it’s updating the rich results test tool to include support for article structured data markup. With the new structured data, users can improve the page’s appearance in search results.
Google has been adding more and more features to the rich result testing tool for some time and now added support for article structured data.
“Your page may be eligible for different features depending on how you code your page,” says Google.
As per Google, the new structured data is useful for marking up news, blog, and sports
pages. It will help in enhancing the page’s appearance in Google Search results.

Structured data helps Google understand a page better, even if it decides not to display the rich results for the webpage.
